'I'm a Remainer but...'

Is it just me that thinks the spate of 'I'm a Remainer but WE MUST LEAVE WITH NO DEAL' threads are not the work of Mumsnet posters?

They do seem like a way to draw people in and foment argument and discord.

Can MNHQ keep an eye on them? I'll report when I see one. In the meantime, if someone claims to be a Remainer but starts proposing a Canada Plus model, they probably aren't who they say they are.

I agree.

HistoriaTrixie · 24/09/2018 06:01

Agreed. I'm in the US and for a while here there were posts going around on FB, pictures of people with text saying "I walked away from the Democratic Party because...". It didn't take long for someone to reverse image search the photos and find they were stock photos from a website.

HistoriaTrixie · 24/09/2018 06:02

Bah. Posted too fast. Anyway, these feel very similar to me, even down to a bunch of them appearing all at once.

ShackUp · 24/09/2018 06:04

People need to start ignoring these threads or at least wising up to them. If we can all report them it would be a start.

Hi there everyone,

Thanks so much for drawing these to our attention.

As we always say, we can't vouch for the claims of anyone on the boards, and these Brexit threads are no different. Of course, if we do see anyone that we're confident isn't posting with the best of intentions, we will take the thread down, so please report anything like this to us.

serenmoon · 24/09/2018 09:42

They are very suspicious in the way they always have to include “I voted remain”. Yes of course you voted remain but now want the hardest of Brexits Hmm. I think the best thing is to ignore the threads so they don’t get the attention they’re obviously after
