Hi,

I see a few Mumsnet Local -(place name) threads in unanswered threads. When I click on them I get the "sorry this thread no longer exists" red box.

On the main talk page I see the banner at the bottom with the title 'mumsnet local' but there are not categores within that theme?

Is this a technical issue or what?

Weird. I don't know SMS - I will find out.

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/06/2007 14:46

I wonder if you can only read the boards if you are signed up to that local group? I presume you've read the Mumsnet News email that tells you about it SMS?

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/06/2007 14:47

On the main talk page there are 2 categories within the mumsnet local theme for me, but they are the 2 local groups that I have joined. Try joining your local group and you no doubt see them.

SlightlyMadSlug · 07/06/2007 14:48

No hav'n't read it yey- it would be on my other AOL 'junk email' account (which I have to say I only normally check on a Friday for MPs email)....will read dutifully after school run.

You can you can. You can join as many "locals" as you want. So if you were thinking of having a day out in Brighton just join the Brighton group for a bit. You can unjoin if you then decide you never want to darken Brighton's shores again

I posted some links on the local site before the re-vamp and they aren'tthere now - do I have to relist them?

cupcakes · 08/06/2007 10:49

I spent oh, ages entering details about Banham Zoo a few weeks ago which have now disappeared.

Tech · 08/06/2007 11:36

Hello all,

Just to clarify.... you can still look at local attractions/listings for anywhere in the UK without signing up for anything, it's just that if you "join" your nearest Mumsnet Local you also get the local talk topic and the local classified ads - and you can put your name on the list of local mums if you'd like to.

Cupcakes, Banham Zoo should be back where you expected it. It had wandered off.

Tech · 08/06/2007 11:37

Hi Galaxy, what one were you looking for?

cupcakes · 08/06/2007 13:54

Hi Tech - where is Banham Zoo now? I thought it would be in the Norwich listing (or possibly Ipswich) but I can't see it.

Tech · 08/06/2007 16:43

Hi Cupcakes, It should be there under norwich now. Sorry, I messed up before.

MrsWho · 08/06/2007 20:32

can we have a group for cumbria apart from carlisle please?

galaxy · 08/06/2007 20:36

Hi tech. It was Stagestruck dance school and Bon East Chinese Restaurant.

Tech · 11/06/2007 13:48

Hi Galaxy, they are still there. The dance school is here .

Tech · 11/06/2007 13:50

Sorry, hit POST by accident. I think the confusion is: in the old days, when you first went on to Local, the things nearest you were at the top of the list. Now, the six things that were added most recently show initially. If you click "show all" you can see all of them again. Or click on the "maps" link at the top of the page to see the page as it was before the re-vamp. Let me know if this doesn't solve the problem for you. Thanks, Tech
