Why can't I change to old username?

I have a few with just numbers and I wanted to change to one but it won't let me.

Snot fair! Now I can't be the incredibly mature 58008 (looks better on a calculator!) or any of my other ones.

Did you ever resolve this issue?? I'm having the same problem
