It sounds very law enforcement but surely the most you could be doing is seeing whether or not their IP address has posted before?

OP posts:

Haha i too have often wondered what that involves.

MeanTangerine · 16/07/2018 11:57

Euphemism for troll.

ErrolTheDragon · 16/07/2018 12:20

They can presumably check full posting history including alternative NNs, at least.

thricethebrindledcat · 16/07/2018 12:37

It probably means nothing much, they have just removed the thread and feel they ought to be giving a reason.

Sparklingbrook · 16/07/2018 12:38

TSSDNCOP remember...

ErrolTheDragon · 16/07/2018 12:42

Apart from being able to see other NNs, they could probably check if there was a new registration shortly after they'd banned someone, and then compare posting styles. Maybe they even have a textual analysis tool though in some cases it's transparently clear that someone is a PBP from the style and content.

I doubt they are going to reveal their trade secrets to you

FlibbertyGiblets · 16/07/2018 12:50

Taps nose scenario. If they tell you then they'll have to

AnyaMumsnet · 16/07/2018 14:48

If MNHQ ever produce a Scandi noir series, we'll let you know. Until then, we won't be revealing our trade secrets. Wink

*TSSDNCOP"

That was cute before the raging intern, the swatting and the data breaches. Plus the BIWI email thing with old user name.
