Buying stuff from MN adverts

Hi MN, if I buy direct to an advertiser from this site, or sign up direct from the site, what information is given to the advertiser. Is it just that a buyer has arrived from mumsnet, or is it that a buyer of user name x has arrived from mumsnet.

I currently open a fresh page and buy/sign up going by a separate route. However I now want to make my 'MN purchases' visible to MN. Thank you.

Hi Pratchet

I am assuming you mean when you click on a banner ad and buy something, if so we share no data about you to the advertiser, as you have already mentioned they only know user X arrived from Mumsnet and clicked on a banner and made X purchase - they have no personal information about you whatsoever.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Angie. If I give my email
address they then know that user X is dolly smith from Secret Lane?

Hi Pratchet

If you share any of your information willingly then yes they will have that information about you but Mumsnet do not share any data with any 3rd party.

Thanks
Angie
