Three Strikes

I'm not wanting to start a ruck but I'm not clear on this policy.

Does it only apply to trans threads or do those who get deleted for disablism or racism also get throw off after the third strike?

I hope it is one rule across the board but can't find if this is the case.

that is an interesting question, as I did wonder myself.

Aridane · 20/06/2018 18:56

I had assumed it was trans only

MunchausensLovelyHorse · 20/06/2018 19:10

There's a post from @MNHQ at the top of the Feminism Chat board. Under 'Clarifications' it says:

"Will FWR be the only area of the boards where we have a three strikes system?
"We haven't had to formalise this elsewhere, but in practice, three deletions would usually lead to a suspension elsewhere on site."

Aridane · 20/06/2018 19:21

I took, that to mean they WILL be doing that for trans stuff but it’s more discretionary elsewhere

Samcro · 20/06/2018 19:22

So people are only being suspended not banned?

MunchausensLovelyHorse · 20/06/2018 19:46

I suppose one could take that as FWR having a stricter policy applied to it than elsewhere on MN, but I'm not sure tbh. I'm becoming confused between intention and outcome iykwim.

It seems odd to give one group better protection, where is the education that the sn community were told they had to do?

I just don't get it

LastTrainEast · 20/06/2018 22:42

"We’ll be introducing a three strikes system whereby users deleted more than three times in any rolling six week period will have their membership automatically suspended and we’ll then take a view as to whether they will have membership reinstated."

So a permanent ban unless they feel moved to change their mind.

AhWeCanDanceIfWeWantTo · 20/06/2018 22:45

All seems very knee jerk and not well thought out.

StepBackNow · 21/06/2018 07:27

So the trans community get "protection" but other vulnerable groups aren't as important?

Not on is it?

How about suspensions for those who constantly report posts that don't break the guidelines?

That would even the scales of justice a little.

stepback:-that’s eaxtly what MNHQ have said, they will be doing!

We’ll also be taking a dim view of the continual and persistent reporting of posts that don’t break our guidelines, as each of these need to be investigated, which is a huge waste of the mod team's time and energy. Anyone who repeatedly reports similar types of posts that aren’t worthy of deletion – ie simply to be vexatious – will be suspended.

StepBackNow · 21/06/2018 20:14

That's something, I suppose. But I still feel that they threw women under a bus.
