Is there a way to move directly to the most recent post on a thread (especially for lengthy threads) within the app rather than painstakingly scrolling through potentially hundreds of posts every time?

I would suggest 'bookmarking' your last post - or the last post that you read. I think you can do that on the App? (Sorry, I don't use the App).

Yes, you can bookmark on the app, just swipe left on the arrow near where the time of the post is and it gives you the option!
