...with a message saying "We're just taking a look behind the scenes", do they ever get reinstated?

I mean, there must be a few suspected troll threads which are found to be genuine.

There was a particularly enjoyable one today which has just been zapped ...

Hello!

I think I know the one you mean...

WELL! It completely depends but usually, no. Especially if it's choc full of troll hunting, too. It'd be full of holes by the time we reinstated and deleted posts - does that make sense?

However there have been some instances when an OP has been genuine (or as far as we can tell) and we have reinstated and explained our decision on the boards.

Case-by-case really.

BTW, moved this over to site stuff for you! Brew

Are deleted threads done completely, or is there a black hole full of them that HQ still have access to? A sort of Classics Dark Side?

extinctspecies · 01/06/2018 18:45

Thanks Lorna. It would be nice to know definitively if something's a troll though & you could update the deletion message.

But I guess you don't have time to do that....

Just pretending to be @LornaMumsnet for a moment (though she is younger and prettier...). But the thing is we can never definitively know ourselves, we can just make a judgement call based on the information we have about their posting history etc.
