Random acts of strikethrough

I'm seeing a lot of posts recently with large chunks displayed struck through. This is using the app on an iPad. It makes the posts hard to read and/or could be misleading.

If I open the same post in the browser, theres no strikethrough, it looks like it's caused by pairs of long hyphens (I'm not sure exactly which character it is) being used - like this - .

An example I've c&pd from a post is

“I came from a pointand I think most of us doof really, really low self-worth and deep shame about who and what we are,”

This isn't showing as struck through as I type my post, which surprises me as doing the markup with pairs of double hyphens like this shows immediately. Oh... the bit I c&pd now does show struck through.Confused

The example post was from this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3262744-Please-change-my-mind-trans

Hi @ErrolTheDragon - thanks for the heads up!

Yes, this is a bug we're currently aware of, it is irritating! It requires a re-write of the editor, which is currently delayed. For now, we really appreciate your patience.

No problem... I'm a software developer and know how it goes (or doesn't). Now, if you can just put in some special case handling to deal with accidental bolding on threads discussing A* exam grades....Grin
