I started a thread a few days ago on Site Stuff asking if it was worth considering having a place listing the characteristics and features of well known Troll threads (having seen a regular that people were responding to in good faith)

We inferred by MNHQ's response (or at least I did, and it seemed like others did too), that while it may be problematic for MNHQ to compile this, but we were somewhat free to do our own, and so the thread grew.
I don't know if it changed direction significantly today (as I had not looked since this morning) beyond just deleting the odd post to keep it okay, or that on the reflection of MNHQ having such a list publicly at all may be counter productive and in fact encourage trolls, but if it is possible to have some clarification I'd be grateful, as I feel like I suggested something in good faith, got a 
proceed with caution response, but now am a bit confused as to how it ended.
