Firstly I haven't posted anything relating to the topic in question so I'm not worried about that but in general as safety of your users given many on here have fled abusive partners etc I have questions.

Do interns or related staff have access to names and addresses provided for give aways and competitions.
How long do Mumsnet hold addresses on file.
Do they have access to details of people previously involved Mumsnet I. E bank accounts and names and addresses of those who worked with the previous Mumsnet local sites.
If you deregister your account can they still access the information from that (i.e emails etc)

Thanks

Anyone?
I think asking how long MN hold our home addresses for is a reasonable question...

Hello ChoppedDaisy and sorry for the delay.

Competition and giveaway data is handled and stored separately from your Mumsnet registration data, and that team does not have access to your Mumsnet user data, so the two can't be connected.

Information provided when entering competitions is held for a maximum of three months, to ensure we can get the prizes to the winner/s. After that point we delete your details from our systems entirely. We’ve already deleted the details of past competition entrants, so if you’ve entered a Mumsnet competition previously we no longer have your details.

If you deregister your account all your personal data is deleted. But it sounds as though you might have had a supplier/advertiser relationship with Mumsnet via Mumsnet Local, in which case, we may still have your details in our Accounts system. This info will not have been connected with your username in any way, to set your mind at rest. But it might be better for you to email us via [email protected] and we can have a proper look for you.

Hope that's useful

Thanks @KateMumsnet I know a few people have asked the same so it's very useful to know.

Regarding the second question I used to be a local editor for Mumsnet :) I will pop you a message.
