All OK here. Think it's just you!

WelshBoris · 15/05/2007 08:59

You have to leave, close the door on the way out

elliott · 15/05/2007 09:02

I've restarted the computer and its still awful. Perhaps my boss is trying to tell me something

go to tools, internet options, and fonts at the bottom and change it to something you prefer. (assuming you are using internet explorer)

elliott · 15/05/2007 09:05

Anyone any other ideas?

Thanks th. I've tried that and can get a different font (although now all the spacing is out of kilter)- but I still can't get the purple banners back at the tope of posts. And why should it suddenly change? What font does everyone else use?

OP posts:
elliott · 15/05/2007 09:10

And the text has gone huge!
Arrrgggh....

um - try again !

my banners are a light blue colour - don't think they have ever been purple.

You can choose between your personal settings or the default ones of the page you are viewing - you set it somewhere in that tools thing (not sure where I don't really use IE I use firefox/mozilla)

Tech · 15/05/2007 10:12

Hi Elliot,
It sounds like your browser is not loading the "stylesheet" that tells it which fonts etc to use. This may be because your "temporary internet files" database has gotten messed up.

You could try:

Quickest thing is to hit F5 a few times to force a reload.

If that doesn't work, go to Tools, Options on the menu. An "Internet options" dialog box should open. In the middle of that dialog box is a "temporary internet files" section. Click on "delete files". If you are on IE version 7 the labels have changed - you need the delete button in the "browsing history" section. Once they are deleted, which may take a few minutes, restart internet explorer and try again. That should force the browser to reload all the files on the page and fix the issue.

Regards,
Tech

Thanks for the help - its miraculously returned to normal! Thanks goodness for that, no forced cold turkey after all!
hmm, my banners are definitely a kind of lilac shade....

IT's happened again! I don't know how I got it right last time, but I've followed tech's instructions below and it hasn't worked...
please help me!

Has your computer updated to Internet explorer 7 in the meantime? If so you need the second part of tech's instructions.

SixKindsofCrisis · 10/08/2007 19:05

Did you accidentally hit ctrl and the wheel thingy on the top of the mouse at the same time? That alters the size of everything onscreen. If so, just do it again and roll the wheeel till you get the right size.
