Boring question about photos on MN

HabituallyOptimistic · 28/04/2018 00:09

When I click on a photo that's on a thread it opens it the same size as the thumbnail in the thread. Is it just me? Is there a way to change the settings so I can enlarge them?

I've noticed this too, but only occasionally. I think it depends on the original size of the photo. (I don't mean physical size, I mean the 'digital' size - having a brain fart moment and can't remember the correct term Blush)

Hello, Habitually,

Yes, Pan is correct - there's nothing you can do to change the size of the image yourself. It will be down to how the person who put it up uploaded it.

We should perhaps issue Mumsnet-branded magnifying glasses with some of the teeny ones we've seen!

If you are using a laptop (not phone), you can right click the photo (preferably choosing it to open in a new tab, but this is optional) - then hold down CTRL and press the + multiple times. To re-set back to the original size, hold down CTRL and press 0 (zero).

For things with text though, you will just end up with a blurry large image that you cannot read, instead of a tiny image you cannot read.

LaSqrrl - thanks so much for the tips, we may as well just turn it in and put our feet up tonight Wink

Thanks for the update!
