Can we have the option of just reading the ops posts?

QueenOfIce · 22/04/2018 21:36

As the title says, it's a massive pain in the arse scrolling through all the replies just to see if the op has returned with a reply.

Is there anyway we could have the option of just reading ops posts?

OP posts:

We already have.
You can change your options, so the OP's posts appear in one colour (your choice).
Like you can change your posts to a different colour, so you can easily pick up replies after your last post.

BackforGood · 22/04/2018 22:07

Click on the downward arrow at top of the page, where is says Talk on the left (above Active / I'm On / etc)

Click on Customise.

Choose what you want to highlight.

Itscurtainsforyou · 22/04/2018 22:08

It would definitely be easier to be able to filter out all but OP comments. Especially when there are pages and pages to scroll through.

QueenOfIce · 22/04/2018 23:19

None of that seems possible on the mobile app you just have to scroll until you see the different colour for the op.

Hi @QueenOfIce,

As other posters have said, there is an option to highlight the OP's posts, and on the desktop site it's quite easy to put in a CTRL F search and jump to the OP's posts.

Just not so easy on a mobile! And scrolling through pages and pages of posts trying to find the OP's next post is a bit tedious.

I'm sure this has been asked for several times in the past, but I'm not completely sure what the Tech response has been. Am heading off to find out now...

YippeeTipTap · 23/04/2018 14:00

I’d guess there would be loads of support for this.

MyFriendFlickaWasAHorse · 01/05/2018 17:45

I would also really like this option to be available on my phone.

gamerchick · 01/05/2018 17:46

You could always not use the app. I just use my browser and have the highlighted posts.

MipMipMip · 01/05/2018 17:50

Pretty please! I use the mobile browser so I see them in a different colour but it can still mean going through pages and pages to see updates (25 posts per page). Would love it if you could get updates emails for just when the OP posts too. And maybe watch lists highlight it....

MyFriendFlickaWasAHorse · 01/05/2018 17:52

I don’t use the app and I do get the highlighted posts, but on longer threads it would be good to be able to filter so I only see the op’s posts.

unicornfarts · 01/05/2018 17:55

Yes! Please please please!!!

GinaCarbonara · 01/05/2018 18:17

I would love this. Often the highlighted colour on the app is very similar to ad colours so I often lose the op's posts when skimming a massive thread.

Almondsupreme · 08/05/2018 22:17

I was just coming on to post this. I hate scrolling through 25 pages of updates for 6 updates from the op. And other fora can do it so it's technically possible...

CookPassBabtridge · 08/05/2018 22:31

Yes I would love this too. Forever scrolling to find the highlighted posts!

ThomasHardyPerennial · 08/05/2018 22:39

You can also change the number of posts you see per page, saves loading new pages to often!

Toomuchsky · 08/05/2018 22:52

Dead easy on the mobile site on an iPhone- copy and paste the OP's name into the search bar. One of the options on the drop down is to find matches of that word on the page- you can then scroll through the matches reading only the OP's posts.

YetAnotherNewName1000 · 09/05/2018 00:39

Yes, i'd like this option too.

Also, when people post someones username and a grin for example, to link on that nn to see the original comment. I spend ages scrolling back up looking for the original comment (to see if it is indeed grin-worthy).

sleep5 · 09/05/2018 00:46

I'd like this on the mobile app. I've often thought about requesting it.

DioneTheDiabolist · 09/05/2018 00:48

This would be brilliant.

PerspicaciaTick · 09/05/2018 00:55

Can't you just do a "find" on the username if you are on the mobile site?

CookPassBabtridge · 09/05/2018 12:50

Yes it's possible on the mobile site but everyones talking about having the feature on the app.

OutnumberedByFurchesters · 09/05/2018 12:56

Another yes please for this.

WhiteFreesias · 09/05/2018 12:57

Ah go on.

Great idea.

C8H10N4O2 · 10/05/2018 01:07

as a workaround you could AS the OP for the last day/few days and get a list of all their posts to the thread?
