Had a strange email suggesting I had been mentioned on a thread

I hadn’t and it got my name wrong.

Someone had tagged you using the @ function which produces an email to you advising you.

You can switch it off.

I don't tag anyone and have the function switched off so if anyone tags me I will have no clue.

No you misunderstand. I was not tagged at all. Have read whole thread. And the email had my username wrong.

The same thing happened to me but when I looked more closely someone had mistyped a name that happened to be one I'd used ages ago and forgotten about. Could that be the case for you?
