The drop down ad for Cadbury’s Easter Egg Hunt

Why is this ad able to interfere with the message box, when I am replying to a thread?

I was replying to a thread, using Safari on the iPad, and wanted to correct a typo in the first line, so tapped the word I wanted to correct, but it triggered the Cadbury’s page instead, and opened it up in a new tab.

It did this five times, before I was finally able to correct the mistake and post my comment, and was incredibly frustrating.

I know MN benefits from the ad money, but please can the ads not muck up our ability to post easily.

We do appreciate how - chocolate or no chocolate - this must be very frustrating. We'll send this information over to tech so they can have a look at what might be happening here. I will see if I can, @CarolineMumsnet - and thanks for looking into this.

I think it might be a specific problem with tablets - it happens when you click in the Message box, and the keyboard comes up - that moves everything up the screen, if you see what I mean - but sometimes the keyboard doesn't appear, so I click in the Message box again - and that is when the Cadburys page pops up.

It is as if the drop down ad is there, and by clicking a second time in the Message box, I have actually clicked on the ad - but at the point where I click for a second time (to try to get the keyboard), the ad isn't actually there.

Thinking about it, I am not sure a screen grab would be particularly useful, as the ad isn't there when I click, but appears as if it had been there and I had clicked on it.

It is the Easter Egg hunt one, if that helps.
