Tech or another clever person - why can't dh get a email confirmation to finish his registration?

I'm trying to sort out a nickname for dh to stop him masquerading as me, but it's not sending him the email with the link thing in and when I request another one it comes up with my email address but doesn't send me the link either.

What's going on? He's going to get me into trouble soon, please get him his own nickname [pleading].
