Sorry if someone has posted about this already but as far as I can see you have to trawl through a topic to see if someone has mentioned you in a post. Is this really the only way?

If someone mentions you with an @ sign before your NN you get an email. But you have to turn the function on IIRC.

However not many people use that, or have the function switched on but will bold your name or quote what you posted.

TenancyTroublesAgain · 13/01/2018 19:34

I can't find any option for that function. :( I only get e-mails when I have a PM

I will have a look. I have it switched off as I would find it really annoying. So if anyone does '@' me I would have no idea.

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2018 19:38

It's in 'Customise'. You have to tick the box next to

Notify me when others mention me in a thread: by email

But you will only get an email if they have used the function and not many do.

Hi TenancyTroublesAgain,

What Sparkling said! If you go to customise and make sure that the 'notify me' boxes are ticked, you should start receiving notifications.

Bur just bear in mind not everybody does it.

TenancyTroublesAgain · 15/01/2018 18:20

Thanks, it was already enabled. As you said not everyone does it :/

I don't see that many people that do. I don't because it would annoy me a lot.

And of course you have no way of knowing if anyone you '@' has it switched on.

Best to just quote them or bold their name.
