Why do some celebrity threads get deleted while others are allowed to stay?

Why is the unpleasant thread about Jamie Oliver being allowed to remain while a thread about Davina McCall quoting a lot of the posts from the Jamie thread with amended pronouns was deleted?

Is there a pecking order of celebrities we're allowed to bitch about? Would Mumsnet mind publishing the mysterious rules about this?

As I understand it, a thread about a tread is not allowed so that's probably why with the JO one

Did you report the offending thread about JO?

Obviously there isn't a pecking order, but HQ rely on people reporting threads that are noticeably unpleasant for the majority of that thread. They probably don't review every single thread as there are hundreds.

Clearly it isn't in the spirit of the site to be vile, personally insulting, disrespectful etc to anyone, celebrity or not. People wrongly seem to think just because someone is a celeb, it gives them the right to come out with obnoxious comments, and outrageous accusations. They forget the Internet is available to all, it isn't a cosy little meeting in a village hall!

Glad to see they've deleted it now. Took a long time though - the Davina one vanished within minutes.
