Nbg, my thoughts exactly as I logged on to MN today. Just doesn't fit into the MN philosophy, IMO.

Shutupaboutyourflippingbabies · 23/04/2007 13:50

no the hsame of them exclaiming " wow its chiz strings!"

to half of the world was

Nbg · 23/04/2007 13:50

I didnt think MN would go for advertising something like this.
Just took me by suprise a bit.

But as I said in the OP, its all £££!

Oh dear god

I really would discourage anybody from trying a cheese string.
I did when they first came out years ago and to this day I still cant get the taste and texture out of my head.

Imagine chewing on a car tyre!

i have no objection to it, the part i object to is them being labelled as new when they have been around aaaages.

MrsGumby · 23/04/2007 13:59

Harman, I see MN as a forum for parents who often seek advice about what's best for them and their kids. IMHO I don't think plastic, salty, pretend cheese is what's best for kids (that's not to say that I haven't used it, 'coz I have occasionally) but I don't think that the overt advocation of it by this site is a particularly great move.

Hulababy · 23/04/2007 14:06

Have no problems with it. I never actually look at or even notice the ads to be honest. I just dive straight in the active conversations and be done with it.

MN is a money making website, and this raises money for them. I have no problem with that.

Have actually tasted cheese strongs once. DD had some at a party. They do not resemmble anything like cheese, or any other natural food at all do they?!

So, all those taken in by ads - go on, go and try them! Dare you!

I actually really like cheese strings.
I have to hide them form my DC's, so they're certainly not a "convenience food". Actully, I'm not even sure it's a food.

Harman, I'm pretty much in agreement with you there about MN catering for all...some days I'm hugging lentils like the rest of them but others I just can't be arsed and don't feel too guilty resorting to something a little more convenient...

I wish they made organic cheese strings.

Carmenere · 23/04/2007 15:15

Parents do buy what their children ask for. Otherwise why do you think they bother advertising to kids. I don't generally buy what dd wants but other parents do, particularly those who are short on time and are looking for something to fill up their dc's.

morningpaper · 23/04/2007 15:37

I don't think people come to MN to take advice by looking at the adverts

just a hunch though

paulaplumpbottom · 23/04/2007 16:01

I thought it an odd choice as well.

Chocolateface · 23/04/2007 16:15

But they're advertising the new low fat, low salt Lunchables.

FrannyandZooey · 23/04/2007 16:17

yes I snorted

am waiting for Greggs and twizzlers next

Chocolateface · 23/04/2007 16:24

Maybe someone from Kraft should have read some threads first.

NotanOtter · 23/04/2007 16:25
