Guidelines for posting in Relationships forum

This may well be considered a TAAT, and be deleted. But I'm actually shocked at some of the responses I read on this thread last night.

It is an area of MN where, over the years, I have seen fantastic help, practical advice and support to posters. Anyone reading some of the posts there last night, certainly would not rush to open a thread there. I think that is a shame.

@MNHQ, I know you may delete this as a TAAT, but please do consider a reminder to all, that Relationships should be a helpful area, as it has been to many.
Not an excuse to pile in on the OP.

I am glad the thread is deleted. I would ask that a reminder be posted in Relationships, as to what the purpose of the forum is.

I was also shocked by many of the responses on that thread. I reported several but I'm concerned that individual reports about the nastiest contributors will have been overlooked as the thread was deleted. And so they'll be free to continue their bullying and unpleasantness on someone else's thread in the future.
Any feedback on this, HQ?

@rachel0Greep thanks for your feedback here. We agree that many of the responses on this thread were far from the spirit of Mumsnet.

We think that for the most part though, the Relationships topic remains one of the most supportive areas of the site, as many MNers would attest, and we'd like to keep it that way. Your suggestion to have a permanent reminder to this end on the topic is certainly something we'll give serious consideration to.

For the time being, we'll keep a close eye on the goings on there and as always, do report posts or threads you feel are not in keeping with our Talk Guidelines.

@ClosdesMouches even if a thread is zapped, any posters on there who were reported to us for breaking TGs will be noted, and we will take action against repeat offenders.

Thanks Lorna, that’s reassuring to know. Some posts on that thread were a complete disgrace.
