Changing your name to not be recognised

Hi. Are you allowed to use more than two nick names at a time. Say you have your usual nick name and then post about something ie debt and then want to post something else say advice on a holiday or a new car. You genuinely want advice but you don't want the two to be connected. Can you do that?

Also to stop you being recognised can you for example say DD instead of DS one one post with one name and the other on the other name?

Is not exactly lying just trying not to be spotted.

I don't want to get thrown off here but I want to ask for help X

Sorry I know how to do orbit I wasn't sure if it was against the rules to do the above?

Yes, you can post under two (or more) names. Just type whichever name you want to use into the username box above the bit you type in.

It's very common to change innocent details (like DD for DS) to avoid outing yourself, totally fine and not considered trolling or lying.

If you use two names on the same thread you may be accused of "sock puppeting" i.e. Using an extra name to back up or support your main name. If it's spotted somebody might report you, but MNHQ will be relaxed about it if it looks like a mistake rather than deliberate.

Hi zoomer,

Thanks for flagging! As other posters have said, namechanging is completely fine and it's a really great way to remain anonymous on the boards (we just ask that you avoid namechanging on the same thread, as this is considered sockpuppeting).
