Reporting a post...not anonymous?

hi there
until recently I thought that if you reported a post, it would be anonymous and that MN would not disclose the name of the reporting person to the person reported.

However, I've now seen something that makes it look as if MN will disclose. I wondered what the rules were? Thanks.

Hi Nyx!

Thanks for flagging. Just to reassure you, reporting is anonymous and we don't disclose the username of the person reporting. Is this a mass reply concern? If so, it's anonymous so please don't worry! If not, let us know what's giving you cause for concern and we'll do our best to set your mind at rest. Smile

“I've now seen something that makes it look as if MN will disclose”

What did you see, Nyx?

Nyx1 · 08/12/2017 10:12

Cote, I've contacted MN directly. I think, in hindsight, I might have been taken in by a GF.

I saw someone once (maybe about 3-4 months ago) suggest that they have been given or found information about who reported them.

Obviously MNHQ know who reported and what they said, so it's not anonymous in that sense
