Ad blocker has stopped working on MN

Is this just me, my ad blocker has suddenly stopped working on MN and I'm getting the ads. They are so big, on the 'active' page which is the one I use I can only see sponsored sticky threads!

Mine is fine. Are you using Adblock Plus?

CotswoldStrife · 15/11/2017 20:19

I'll try reloading. For some reason I'm getting the ads at the top and the sides now.

Me too. I can't work it out. I have Adblock Plus and it works on other websites, but not on MN.

MissConductUS · 16/11/2017 11:41

ABP is working perfectly for me on both firefox and chrome. It's blocked 8 ads on this page.

Sallystyle · 16/11/2017 11:45

Mine has blocked 0.

It's very odd!

LadyDeadpool · 16/11/2017 12:10

The people with issues have you upgraded to firefox quantum? Adblock plus isn't working with it and you need to download uBlock Origin instead.

Sallystyle · 16/11/2017 12:21

I'm using safari. maybe I will switch to Firefox.

OtterInDisgrace · 16/11/2017 12:22

It has been doing this with me recently too. Adblock plus. Very annoying.

CotswoldStrife · 16/11/2017 12:36

It could be that Firefox has updated, my Windows certainly did so I wonder if it's an update that has thrown it?

I have both adblock plus and ad-blocker running at the moment which has sorted the drop down one at the top that blocks the screen (laptop, Firefox). I did have an older version of Firefox running in an attempt to get Flash working or similar, so perhaps it's one of the system updates that has caused the issue Hmm

I just did the upgrade to firefox quantum (I hate the black tabs) and ABP still works fine (7 ads blocked on this page).

YesItsMeIDontCare · 16/11/2017 12:42

Mine was doing it a few days ago and then resolved itself 🤷🏼‍♀️.

alwaysme22 · 16/11/2017 16:43

This happened to my adblocker, I downloaded a different one which is still working.

Apparently sites can block adblockers .......
