Newbie alert.
When I post, how much information about me is visable?

If you want to be discreet don’t do a profile
Be aware daily mail and websites will lift complete threads eg pen is beaker for sex clean up
Don’t disclose names/location. If you discuss whereabouts be general
Some folk on here do cross check and compare posts eg you said x on y date

Penis beaker, post sex clean up kit, was in dm and all over internet

Thanks. As an adoptive mummy I am cautious of what I post but wanted to be sure that my location/email was secure.

Be cautious as you would on any site. Don’t be fooled by informality of medium
I don’t mean this bad but mumsnetters aren’t your friends they are folk online that you’ve never met
On other hand that anonymity is very liberating, to converse freely, not held by social niceties of knowing someone in Real life

MUmsnet can find stuff out, and it has been hacked in the past.

It’s generally safe enough for everyday folk though.

It’s accepted that people tweak details to keep themselves more anonymous. So you could reverse the sexes of your children, and say you live in a different region for example. Use a nickname for your children.

Thanks everyone. Smile
