........do we know why it was closed? It was a robust discussion but I don't see how it broke talk guidelines.

Disgusting this has been suspended.

No talk guidelines were broken at all. And if any were they would have been easy to just delete those posts.

BertrandRussell · 13/10/2017 18:56

It's very odd.

Hi all. Sorry for the delay with re-opening this thread. It was generating a lot of reports so we needed to give ourselves a little time to have a proper look. It should be back up again now Flowers.

BertrandRussell · 13/10/2017 19:54

Is it possible for you to tell us what it was being reported for? What were you looking for when you "took a look"?

Just guessing Bertrand (I haven't seen this particular thread) but there have been an awful lot of threads started recently on topics certain to generate a heated discussion, which have turned out to be started by previously banned posters. So maybe some people were had their suspicions aroused.

I don’t think I’ve seen this thread but intrigued. Can anyone link it for me if it’s back? Thank you GinWineBrewCake

No, this definitely not a pbp.

I have seen a fair few discussions removed reasently. Especially though that go into the grounds of sensitive, contraversal or taboo subject mater. Many of them raising really big issues and of course bringing hated debate from a wide spectrum. It concerns me how many of the whole discussions seem to be removed. I could understand any individual comments being removed but often whole discussion just get closed down. I maybe going into the realms of conspiracy theory but are there some discussions that are too taboo for mumsnet? Is mumsnet worried by triggering negative attention to MN by hosting conversations that may platform contributions from controversial posters? I could understand MN being worried by adverse media attention.

1DAD2KIDS · 14/10/2017 20:48

Heated debate*

RunningOutOfCharge · 14/10/2017 20:49

Pbp’s are everywhere. You can’t be certain

1DAD2KIDS · 14/10/2017 21:00

Is that the reason for most of them pbp? I assume MN have a good system of detecting pbp with accuracy? Also say a pbp puts a good discussion on that captures people and gets a good debate going why does it have to be removed (even if posted by a pbp)? I can understand removing the pbp, but why the whole discussion? Lots of contributors have spent their time and effort contribution to the discussion, to delete it seems very rude and disrespectful to all who have taken part
