Abbreviations

Reading through some threads and comments etc I keep seeing lots of abbreviations, I was wondering if there is a thread or link where I can find out the meaning for them, I'm mainly on pregnancy threads and find on some of them it feels inappropriate to ask

If you want to 'tag' someone properly, you have to tag their entire NN, so (sorry Sponge!) you have to do it this way :

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants

because that way your 'tagged' person will then get an email to say they've been tagged on a thread, and they can return to that thread quickly.

If you only use a short version of their NN it won't work. So tagging @Sponge will not send her an email alert!

Having said that, many of us have disabled the email alerts to 'tagging' anyway
