Has thread deletion policy changed?

So, we don't need a reason to get a thread removed any more??

No, no change in policy here. As always, we do try not to delete entire threads, especially where there's been a long discussion that lots of posters have been involved in. But in special circumstances we will do it, whether that's someone being outed in real life, or put in danger potentially, or occasionally if we can see a thread is causing an OP real distress. While we don't like threads just vanishing as we know how annoying it is, we're not here to make anyone's life a misery, so we take each case as it comes really.
Presumably the OP gave us a good reason, but we don't always feel it's fair to share that on a thread deletion message. We try to give as much info as we can without airing anyone's dirty laundry generally.
