I currently moderate the Noticeboard. In other words, I check it regularly and email the people on there if their request would be better posted on the Talk section. I advise them which section of talk they would get the best response.

I also advise the mumsnet team of any that I am unsure of or that are advertising or looking for mumsnetters help and should therefore be on the non-members/media requests.

Unfortunately I will be moving in Mid-September and it is likely that I will not have regular access to the internet.

This is therefore a plea for someone to take over the role of moderator.

If you wish to take over please contact me at janhreid at hotmail dot com or the mumsnet team. I have agreed to help "train up" my successor, so hopefully one can be found before I leave.

Thankingh you in anticipation.

We are moving to grandma's bungalow, until our new house is built. THis is so that we can get our current house sold without all the clutter in it.

We currently have broadband here and as were are going to be there (hopefully) less than a year it is not worth getting it installed there. Also DP has no longer got a modem for dial up and has said that it will do us good to go without for a while.

He will obviously unsubcribe from all his newsgroups, but I have a hotmail account and if I don't check the junk email once a week they will all be deleted. I will therefore try to get on to his parent's computer each week just in case there is somthing there that is not junk.

Sorry I can't do it but:

BUMP!

lalaa · 15/07/2004 18:56

what sort of time commitment does this involve during an average week? do you need to go on every single day or just every 2/3 days (actually I do come on nearly every day....!). and when you're actually on, how long does it, on average, take to deal with the issues you've highlighted?

I might be able to do it, but it depends how much time you need from me!

And is there cover when you go on holiday?!

lou33 · 15/07/2004 18:58

MB, if noone else can do it I will double up, so don't worry too much.

MadameButterfly · 15/07/2004 19:12

lalaa,

I usually check it each time I am on MN. It only takes a few minutes to deal with emailing the people that need redirecting, or notifying the MN team.

I usually let the team knowq when I am going to be away so that that can keep an eye on it, but popsycal has covered for me before.

If you are interested, email me or the mumsnet team.
