Unwanted Ad just opened up and went to a new page

Was happily reading the Trump thread. Then the page opened a new page and this ad appeared. I didn't click on any link.

This has happened too, but it is a video of something. I'm on an HP stream laptop.

It has happened before. Not often. Firefox on a laptop.

I don't think it's on the page as a link. It opens all of a sudden.

Is it always the same ad that pops up? And definitely not associated with something that you're already seeing on the page?

It happened again. Except the ad didn't appear. Just this.

I am using chrome. Keep trying to post and thread just jumps into an ad or onto an entirely new thread without me doing anything. It's massively pissing me off.

Not sure if connected but I just got redirected to this page when trying to get to active. I'm on chrome/android.

And it shuts my MN window so I have to re-open it.

Don't know if it's related, but I was reading a thread about grammar school the other day and suddenly got redirected to a Mumsnet page about the 11+. I went back to the thread to see if I'd accidentally touched a link, but couldn't find any such link anywhere on the page.
