Stupid big advert suddenly takes over page and starts talking to me

I close it and I'm back on MN.

Adverts I can live. Giant talking ones that take over the page. That's a bit much.

Can you grab a screenshot of this for us so that we can send to our ads team?

This weeks giant flicky ads are making the site unusably slow as soon as you try to post. That sentence took over a minute to type.

Same for me (on Chrome). It's all flickery and generally annoying.

I don't really know what to take a screen shot of - I'd have to a take a video. The MN logo in the tab flickers between the MN logo and the 'time out' clock thingy - like it's refreshing constantly. And typing is slow.

It's fine on Safari and my iPhone - just changed with Chrome in the last 24hrs or so.

The screenshots are so we can see the page you're on, what advertisements are being shown and what size the box is! (helps us to identify which ad is causing issues).

So the screenshot above is exactly as it should be! (The advert between posts.) Sorry if it's annoying, it's a new ad format that we're testing and from what we can see, there's nothing wrong with the usability so all is as it should be. That being said, we'll always listen to feedback.

OP, the one that jumps out, takes up the entire page and speaks to you... Definitely not a new format!

To see if it's a rogue advert, we need to know what you see, where you see it and if possible, a screenshot when it happens.

I don't know if this is big ad problem and I can't get a screen shot of what the problem is. Seems to be 'waiting for .....' something at the bottom left of the page.

Makes the mobile site unusable.

You tried this before and feedback told you it was crap.

If u use mobile site can u not hust download the app. I don't get the ads pop up or anything.

Also while here, MNHQ is there a reason I can't see inbox or send messages from the iphone app?
