MN Admins deleting threads - a suggestion

Hi Admins,

I don't know if you've thought about this suggestion before and thrown it out as a bad idea but here I go.

If a thread is deleted, would it be possible to have a 'sticky' post at the top of Talk, that lists the name of the thread and the reason why the thread was removed?
Admins could update the 'sticky' post with the details as and when they decide a thread has to go and the rest of us on MN would be able to see if a thread we were reading has gone poof! and why. This should (I think) cut down on TAAT and you guys having to remove them too.
Alternatively, lock the thread, leave it there and let the final post be from yourselves and why you're locking it. Again, it would considerably cut down on TAAT.

I'm not talking about any one particular thread, just in general.

What do you think about that suggestion? What do others think about it as a suggestion???

Good suggestion OP.

Hi, OP!

Thanks so much for the suggestion.

We love feedback and we've flagged this up to the team.

We're never sure whether it's something we can put into action, but we'll discuss.
