Like subject says, I flounced and deleted my previous account because I posted for advice and felt unreasonably attacked (it wasn't AiBU otherwise fair enough) It wasn't worth reporting but still got to me and I needed a break. I have since signed back up but is there any way I can get my original username back? I know it's unlikely but I thought I would ask anyway

Don't fall into the trap of thinking it's 'fair enough' in AIBU. Too many vicious bitches use 'It's AIBU' as their get out of jail free card.

Too true. I don't want to get back into that discussion as some comments were uncalled for but I do feel that AIBU views are creeping into other topics more and more when it isn't needed or wanted
