This latest TestFlight update has changed the ads presented on the app. Ranging from homeopathic supplements Hmm to this doozie.

I think I preferred the annoying, but harmless SuperSavvyMe ads...

Really, MNHQ?

Nice. Older women yes please. I have a new crochet stitch that I just can't get right. So timely.

SavoyCabbage · 26/08/2017 09:03

Is that even a grammatically correct sentence?

Also, "older woman", my arse... The lass in the photo is about 21! Grin

Oh FFS! She's stalking me now! On my own thread about her!

Bloody hell, if she's 'older' I must be geriatric!

Oblomov17 · 26/08/2017 09:09

How old is she, then?

Which Hmmlives near you?

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 26/08/2017 09:12

Oblomov now that you mention it, I think I did see her up the Asda last Thursday...

Is she from TOWIE?
She looks like a younger carol Vorderman.

HarrietSchulenberg · 26/08/2017 10:41

I'm not sure which offends me most: that ad on this site; the pic of the "older woman" who is only older than teenagers, or referring to the woman using "which".
Urgh to the lot of it.

CoteDAzur · 26/08/2017 10:50

Sorry OP, but I think those are ads that are automatically supplied by Google based on your browsing history.

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 26/08/2017 11:20

Cote normally I would agree! But as well as the "woman in your area", I'm also getting ads for IVF and PCOS, and Zita West supplements, none of which I have any requirement to google for!

Just noticed that bookmarking is not working on the new app update, so there is something definitely wrong here.

No one else having issues?

I'm getting a lot if shitty ads on MN that bear no relation whatsoever to my googling / browsing history.

Most do, but some absolutely don't. And I really don't want to see adverts for 'escorts', various 'types' of women, and dodgy products, thank you. Or boob jobs.

If they're based on posting history, then what an own goal, given that I post on the Feminist Chat board about hating these kinds of adverts ^^ Grin

Well, I've admitted defeat and deleted the Beta test Talk App and back to the AppStore one.

Back to lovely gentle Fairy non bio ads, and guaranteed bookmarking.

I don't have anything inappropriate but am finding the new style of ads on the test flight app (IOS) very intrusive. Was going to post about it yesterday but they went away. Now they are back Angry Mine do seem to be based on my internet browsing. They are very large and right next to the text so they look like they're part of the post. And every 6 posts!! I know we're all just product now but if you make them too distracting your product will just leave.

TimMumsnet · 26/08/2017 23:57

Hey guys, thanks for raising this!

As mentioned in the TestFlight release, we are experimenting with new advert formats. As you know, advertising is an important part of our revenue, so we really appreciate your patience as we improve how ads work.

We have blocked some ad sources and categories, but we will look into this one too.

Let us know if other strange ads appear, and at any time, you can revert to the version on the App Store. Your feedback is really helpful for making Mumsnet Talk a better product, we're very grateful!

TimMumsnet · 28/08/2017 18:48

The advert and its' provider have now both been blocked. Let us know if you find any others.
