I know it's not very mumsy but as this site is for women we might as well be able to converse about looking good (or trying to look better!) as at the moment the posts re this turn up in alsorts of random locations (request for suggestions where to do pilates in London, post asking for recommendations re hair straighners etc........)

lostinparis - Yes, sounds good to me! I'm sure you'll get support for this. MN is quiet atm, though, so it might take a while. Good luck!

MeanBean · 17/07/2004 17:33

What a great idea. Will not help me to cure my addiction to Mumsnet though.

wobblyknicks · 17/07/2004 17:36

Meanbean - I thought about asking for a new topic for Mumsnetters Anonymous, to help cure our mumsnet addictions. You'd come on every day, talk to other addicts, share coping tips etc but there's a flaw it in somewhere I'm sure.....

wobblyknicks · 17/07/2004 17:37

Oh, and I'll add my vote to wanting the new topic.

xoz · 17/07/2004 17:44

lol - wobblyknicks.. maybe it should be a separate site... but I think there may still be a problem with that....
I was going to post a question about hair colourants the other day but couldn't decide where to put it so I just didn't bother...
A good suggestion lostinparis

There's only one way to cure a mumsnet addiction - do something like get 'nanny software' and tell it to ban access to mumsnet, uninstall IE from the pc or sell your pc all together.

But I'm not that strong!!!!!

granarybeck · 17/07/2004 17:52

fab idea for new section!

lostinparis · 17/07/2004 18:53

I'm so pleased there are others out there that agree - for a moment I thought I might look like the narcissistic mumsnetter! + of course as I spend so much time on this site (glad to see I'm not alone in my addiction) it would give me another topic area for active conversations, as it's so frustrating when the topics I look at a thousand times a day haven't moved.

Hi Lostinparis,
We are about to rearrange the topic list (as soon as Tech finally succumbs to our nagging, that is) so it's a timely request and we'll add it to the new format.
Many thanks for the suggestion,
Justine, Carrie and Rachel

elliott · 18/07/2004 13:37

I still think a finances/budget topic would be good! Obviously in a minority though

Kayleigh · 18/07/2004 13:40

yes, agree with elliot, a finance/bugdet topic heading would be good. "Other Subjects" gets too unwieldy and because of ambiguous thread titles you never know what is being discussed until you look at the thread.

Rachel (mumsnet) · 18/07/2004 16:26

Hi elliot - another good idea. Will check out with the team and let you know if this is going to be included. With regard to your point Kayleigh, as Justine mentioned, we're in the process of reorganising the topic list, which should make subjects clearer to identify.

Thanks again for the suggestions,

Rachel, Carrie and Justine
