Can we have a board for people to rant about trans stuff?

Because I'm sick of clicking on a thread in aibu or chat and seeing vile being sprouted when the title gave no inclination that it was another anti-trans thread. It's getting boring now.

OP posts:

they're hopefully not saying this stuff around trans folks

adlertipper you are aware that some "trans folks" are also saying this, yes?

And you are also aware that many of the women saying this are gender non-conforming, yes?

RiverTam · 14/08/2017 10:11

alderipper maybe if you actually understood what the word 'phobia' means (along with the word 'woman') you would know full well there is no such thing on these threads.

Ceto · 14/08/2017 15:55

Datun, that survey is one of a number of methods of consultation used. There is nothing that excludes women from involvement.

Cocolepew · 14/08/2017 16:08

Just click back out of the thread, it takes seconds to read an op and get the gist of it.
Its not rocket science Confused

Just like we weren't excluded from the consultation for Miller's gender equality report Ceto?

Janice Turner's interview with Maria Miller in the Times

There's an inherent dishonesty in that report anyway, Pencils. All that was proposed by Maria Miller was a simple amendment to the Equality Act bringing trans people into the group of those with protected characteristics. The assumption that this would massively impact on all women completely ignored the fact that there are opt-outs and exceptions in the Equality Act and no indication that they wouldn't apply in exactly the same way to trans people.

Datun · 14/08/2017 17:25

Ceto

Whilst I appreciate that you tackle the detail of these things, I think you're being naive.

Six women's groups that I belong to who are trying to organise a cohesive objection to this ideology, most of it simply asking questions, have been continuously shut down by the online provider because of transactivism.

Women are writing to MPs, through the correct channels, and being sent form letters back completely ignoring all the points they are making.

Women are being doxxed online and threatened for speaking out.

Most people have no idea about any of this. Why do you think that is?

In terms of exceptions, and opt outs, they are simply ignored. Otherwise you wouldn't had transwomen raping the female inhabitants of a prison.

A swimming pool in Yorkshire shut down the ladies only session last week because they are completely unaware of the legality of any of this. Because no one is telling them!

The only reason they took legal advice is because 6000 people signed a petition.

So I can neither share your confidence in people understanding the law, and I profoundly disagree that any women are being listened to.

PencilsInSpace · 14/08/2017 17:30

What are you talking about, Ceto?

Here is the trans equality report. It's quite long. Here are the 71 recommendations it made. 5-14 relate to the GRA. 17-22 relate to the EA, including the recommendation that there should be no opt-outs for single sex services where someone has a GRC.

Miller's failed gender ID bill (which I think is what you are referring to?) was one tiny part of this, as is the current GRA self-ID proposal.

Maybe your time would be better spent doing some reading and some joined up thinking, rather than telling women we have nothing to worry about just because you don't know what's going on.

Datun · 14/08/2017 17:30

Furthermore Ceto, it will be entirely legal for transwomen to use the bathroom of their preferred gender, not sex. There is no opting out of that one.

How many people do you think are aware of autogynephilia?

Every single time a man with AGP legitimately accesses the woman's bathroom, the women in that bathroom will be the unwilling and unconsenting participants in his fetish.

It might interest to you to know that in the entire 98 report published by Maria Miller last year, AGP was not only not addressed, it wasn't even mentioned.

How's that for 'inherent dishonesty'?

traw · 14/08/2017 18:03

People are so shit-scared of being seen as A Bad Guy that they'd rather not talk about any of it. Ironically that makes them the bad guys in my view.

I have yet to see transphobia here.

You want to see hatred, google the trans' movements views of women.

Datun · 14/08/2017 18:38

Honestly, it makes me mad.

The Internet is positively littered with men saying they can't wait to get into women's spaces. Openly, aggressively boasting about how brilliant this is going to be. Paedophiles rubbing their hands in glee. Men who truly believe that their right to intimidate, openly intimidate a woman is something they should have.

Meanwhile, people sit there bloody pontificating over the finer points of law and what people should or shouldn't do. And how it can all be managed effectively and legally.

Guess what, there are so many men who don't give a fuck.

traw · 14/08/2017 18:39

Yeah; it's been eye-opening hanging out on Reddit. I think some people don't venture out of Mumsnet, the Guardian and their own social networks.

Datun · 14/08/2017 19:04

traw

And before anyone accuses you of inhabiting the dark corners of the Internet that don't reflect real life, I belong to sooo many groups who expose the underbelly of transactivism. All different. All posting different stuff, from everywhere.

This is not niche. This is not a handful of wankers.

This is every predatory male in the country dribbling with anticipation.
