Gah. Can't find thread with the original posts about this. But it's super annoying. Scrolling on the app and threads are repeated over and over. See photo.

I've been getting this for weeks using the iPhone app. It's very annoying!

Urgh - we can see why you might be finding this more than a tad irritating. We're sending the screenshot over to tech and we'll get back to you soon with an update on where we are with this. Cheers Wine.

Oh that is weird - if you go back to topics and re-open the topic again, is it still there? I have a suspicion this happens after interacting with a thread, but can't be sure...

Still an issue

@namechangedforthisreply I'll look into it, thanks for the heads up!

TimMumsnet · 19/07/2017 17:32

@namechangedforthisreply I've found the cause of this bug, let me attempt to explain it...

The list of threads in a topic is constantly updating and thread positions can regularly change. The app and website both use 'paging' to load 25 threads at a time, so the browsing experience is much faster. The app loads pages in the background, giving the impression of 'infinite scrolling'.

If you load the first page, then before loading the second, the order of threads changes, a thread may be shown on the first page AND the second page. This is what has happened in your case.

It's difficult to fix, because if the app/browser constantly reloaded all threads, battery life would be drained, and we can't stop the list of threads constantly changing positions.

So in summary, there's not much we can do Sad but I hope it makes more sense!

Thanks Tim for trying. It's just really annoying!
