We need a way to flag a reported thread as "urgent, needs looking at immediately."

I realise that this could be open to abuse and that some might report threads on that basis anyway, but sometimes threads come up that are so sick and depraved that they need urgent attention as in within minutes. If there was an option to report as needs urgently looking at next to the spam and general report check boxes then these threads could be reported as such and then addressed as priority.

The alternative is that there are threads which get multiple reports but it stil takes HQ a while to respond and meanwhile the threads build up a number of postings and the OP gets more and more attention. And this is when people are far more likely to troll-hunt.

Hi There WannaBe,

We can absolutely see how this could be useful but agree it's very likely to be fearfully abused/overused sadly.

More than happy to pass your idea up the ladder at MN Tower for you.

One way to alert HQ would be for many reports to be made. Not by one person, by lots of posters, I mean.

At night time I've found pm-ing a Night Watcher VERY effective at short term hiding til morn.

Wh0Kn0wsWhereTheTimeGoes · 28/06/2017 21:16

How do you pm a Nightwatcher? I'm aware the system exists but have never used it.

DonkeyOaty · 28/06/2017 21:22

You can post an alert in the Night Watch topic here and if really awful/urgent then search through threads in the NW topic to find a watcher of the night and PM them that way. Done that twice I think. They're very good.

Ah, ok, I thought there might be a generic Nightwatch userid. Will remember that, thanks.
