Re. Grenfell Tower threads Would this be possible?

I think we should keep on using the Chat board to discuss this but as each thread reaches 1000 messages and closes is there a way MN can file them somewhere so they dont disappear in 12 weeks time?

Obvs its not just up to me but after the comments ive seen on an AIBU thread i wouldnt particularly want the discussions we are having here moved across to there but maybe to In The News.
Because i dont think these Grenfell threads in Chat should disappear. Is there a way around this? Could each thread be moved from Chat AFTER its reached 1000 posts and closed? Because its natural for many of us to gravitate towards Chat. There are 3 full Grenfell threads already full. Could they be moved to In the News and the fourth one moved there after that has closed. Would it be possible to do it like this?
