Quiz: who should I vote for?

Hi all

The election is nearly upon us - this Thursday we'll be voting in the party which will govern for the next five years. If you're still undecided - or want to double check that the party you're voting for does actually match your views and values - have a look at this nifty tool we've borrowed from Represent, a social enterprise whose declared mission is to modernise democracy.

Answer some simple questions, and the quiz will tell you which party's manifesto is most closely aligned with your views on important issues. Plus, you'll be participating in a collaborative digital democracy project: Represent anonymises the data and makes it publicly accessible after the election, so the person who eventually becomes your MP can see what their constituents really care about. The idea is to make sure that everyone's voice is heard - not just in the run up to the election, but well beyond it.

Have a go, tell us what you think - and don't forget to share if you like the idea.

Doesn't work and seems obsessed with signing you up to represent. HTH.

acatcalledjohn · 06/06/2017 11:39

^ as soon as you answer question 1 it wants you to create an account/log in with FB. Can't get past that so have binned off.

TheSnorkMaidenReturns · 06/06/2017 11:42

Likewise.

Oblomov17 · 06/06/2017 12:00

Can't use it on my phone. It's awful.

I did this one on FB - 38 degrees and that was easy.

Quiz: who should I vote for?

I did this one instead

Apols - we've fixed a small glitch and it should be displaying fine on mobile now.

It says it's anonymous but then wants to link to your FB account lol.

AndNowItIsSeven · 06/06/2017 12:33

I did the 38 degrees one said 92% green which was a surprise, still voting for Labour.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 06/06/2017 12:38

I'm not filling in a survey on a website that doesn't even know when the election is. Their current 'countdown' suggests our election starts on Wednesday.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 06/06/2017 13:07

Yeah, I'm not interested in a survey that wants my FB log-in thanks.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/06/2017 13:48

voteforpolicies is a nice one. It does ask for your post code at the end to get your results iirc.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/06/2017 13:48

sorry, you don't need your post code for results.

loobylou10 · 06/06/2017 13:58

Doesn't work

CheesyWeez · 06/06/2017 14:14

No one would think one single issue is most important surely? I thought I would tick 4 or 5 issues which interest me but I'm not going to log in with facebook to investigate each one.

MaroonPencil · 06/06/2017 14:42

Oh like I am going to faff around creating an account etc when you can do the same thing all over the internet, like at uk.isidewith.com/

Vonklump · 06/06/2017 18:08

It sounded like an interesting idea, but I didn't want to sign up either.
I found it irritating that I was required to sign in to continue after question 1. If there is a requirement to sign in it should be clear from the start.

gunting · 06/06/2017 18:37

Bit of a faff signing up and using on mobile but the results seemed very true to my political beliefs.

I got Green, Lib Dem and Labour as the top 3 and I'm undecided who to vote for.

youarenotkiddingme · 06/06/2017 18:53

I did FB one too and got green Confused

The only thing it did seem sure about was I shouldn't vote conservative!

HappydaysArehere · 06/06/2017 19:18

Doesn't work. It should say beforehand you need to log into Facebook.
Don't really trust it - not sure why. Got a feeling you will be hounded with emails.

PickAChew · 06/06/2017 19:34

Gave up at the sign in, to.

A bit too much data harvesting for my like.

Summerisdone · 06/06/2017 19:56

I did the Facebook one this morning and I got as follows;
72 Labour
70 UKIP
62 Lib Dem
57 Green
50 Conservative

I wasn't surprised that I was highest Labour based upon my own personal circumstances, but I was surprised how close behind my UKIP results were, especially as I'd say UKIP is much more similar to conservative, yet I was lowest with my Tories results.

I'm still completely on the fence between Labour and Conservative though; Labour are promising so much more for me whereas Conservative are saying outright I'll be worse off, but how much are Jeremy's promises a fantasy of ideals rather than realistic? And I think Theresa will get the best deal for UK with Brexit deals as Jeremy is almost apologetic to Europe for the outcome, so I feel he'll take whatever deal the EU want and not bargain for what's best for UK.

PinkSquash · 06/06/2017 20:02

I didn't go beyond q1 as I didn't want to sign up with my details. I'm logged into MN, that should be enough

DancingLedge · 06/06/2017 20:09

Or if you don't want to create an account,
htpps.//UK.I side with.com/political-quiz

Studyinghell · 06/06/2017 20:19

77% lab
70% green

bltglark22 · 06/06/2017 20:24

I end up with green/ plaid cymru but will probably be voting labour. We have an awful Tory Mp (Ive met him a couple of times). I also worry about Theresa May's aproach to the Eu. I cant see how we can negotiate trade deals with the attiude of been a "bloody difficult woman". Also she wasnt willing to debate with Corbyn which makes me wonder if shes manage? Confused
