Good to see HQ not even making a pretence of reasons to delete a thread. Might as well come clean now and admit you'll zap any old thread if the OP isn't happy with the way it went.

Well it is in the guidelines. I don't know what thread it is btw.

Hi Fairenuff,

We definitely do not just delete any old thread but we will, sometimes remove a thread when requested for specific reasons.

We spend far more time, that you won't see on the boards, pushing back and saying no than we do removing threads.

QueenMortificado · 04/06/2017 16:54

I mean this nicely, but who cares?! Unless you've really invested time in a thread, which no one really should do as there's always a chance it's a troll, then it doesn't really matter does it.

Almost as bad as

Thread deleted
Message from MNHQ: Message deleted at OPs request as it will out the couple involved

No shit, do you not think that before posting the child's highly unusual name???

Hi Rebecca. It was a very short time between OP saying they were going to ask for thread to be deleted and it going. In fact, I've never seen HQ act so fast. But there was no suggestion of trolling, just the OP saying she didn't like the fact that most posters thought she was in the wrong.

In fact, one poster even said on the thread that HQ would most probably not delete just because she asked.

But I've seen it so often now that I thought it was revised policy.
