Are you suspending new registrations in the run up to the election?

There are already some dubious posts following on from the announcement that we're having an election in June.

Are you/have you/will you suspend new registrations, as you have before?

Or checking the IP address?

Any response MNHQ? Hmm

Sorry BIWI - weekend and all that.

We've suspended regs before some 'big' political webchats, to avoid supporters/naysayers joining up to derail, but we've not previously done so before an election, and we don't have any plans to do so this time around.

Do report any posts you think are suspect, though, and we'll definitely take a look.

Cheers,

MNHQ

I think, based on the number of obvious posts over the last few days, that you really should consider suspending new registrations before an election.

It's tedious and tiresome beyond belief.

I think, however, there has been some over-zealous policing of "newcomers". I was accused of joining this week, and I have been on MN for over ten years! I was extremely insulted... but the accuser did send me a message of apology!

I'm fed up with all the users. Don't trust any of them. I don't like that I don't trust anyone but there it is.. Aibu is ridiculous. Can you suspend that?

Highalert · 04/06/2017 16:32

I don't think they will suspend new registrations. MN relies on new members joining all the time.
