Up-to-date iOS, Safari. Think it happened on both Active and AIBU. Had to switch to desktop site just to navigate here to post this. Help.

Same here with the IELTS ad. Samsung Android. Takes up half the sodding screen.

fiftyplustwo · 02/05/2017 04:20

Yes, it's irritating - you see it on all too many sites now. I wonder if it's effective. Another irritating phenomenon are those splash ads asking for your email address, the ones appearing seconds after you've started reading on a site. If you were to enter an email address every time you saw them, that address would be literally flooded with spam!

KnockMeDown · 02/05/2017 06:43

I've got it too, takes up half the screen, and renderiing site useless. Grrrr

Gallavich · 02/05/2017 06:55

I'm going to have to turn ad block back on because this is popping up on every other thread and clicking the x just gets you the second image, not much help

Yep this is awful. Also when I close it I have to go through a whole questionnaire of why I don't want to see that ad Hmm

Adblock Plus Wink

Advertisers are kinda shooting themselves in the foot a bit here. The more it happens, the more people use ad blockers.

MissWilmottsGhost · 02/05/2017 08:19

Same here, windows phone Hmm

TimeforANewTwatName · 02/05/2017 08:46

Same here, Google on Android phone.

MoonriseKingdom · 02/05/2017 09:05

iPhone 6, safari - massive bloody ads. Bit reluctant to turn Adblock back on because I was getting the constant page reloads with it. What to do?

Gallavich · 02/05/2017 09:47

I turned Adblock off after they fixed the last disaster because actually I think it's a fair trade, free mumsnet in exchange for ads but really they can't keep having these fuck ups with their advertising. Doesn't tech know what these ads will do to the mobile site before they run them?

OhDearToby · 02/05/2017 10:04

I don't use adblock because I find the normal ads don't bother me at all. I barely notice them to be honest. This is just a tad too big though!

LornaMumsnet · 02/05/2017 10:43

Hi, all!

Thanks so much for all of the information.

We've passed this over to our adops team now.

AngieMumsnet · 02/05/2017 10:48

This is definitely an error, please bear with us whilst we figure out why this ad has decided to appear on top of the content.
Sorry!

TimeforANewTwatName · 02/05/2017 18:14

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for being patient, we're trying to get this sorted for you all.

MoonriseKingdom · 03/05/2017 19:21

If it's any help I was getting this a lot yesterday but today have not had at all.

FlissMumsnet · 03/05/2017 21:36

Thanks MoonriseKingdom, that's helpful - our tinkering may be taking effect....

Callmecordelia · 04/05/2017 10:28

It's not happening here anymore either.
