Tech, why do old threads get items in a list compressed? It makes them hard to read

Like this one, I posted a shopping list in a list but it's now all mixed up together

Yes, I've noticed that all the spaces seem to get lost on old threads.

Really annoying, makes it so hard to read some of the archived posts.

yes and if you post with not much punctuation and lots of lines left between parts of your post, you end up looking like an illiterate loon

I have no idea. Didn't know that happened. I'll investigate....

I did ask this before tech but you ignored me

I've just found it on another thread too, here I def would have typed my long post in paras there. Thanks for looking at it Tech.

Is that why the MNetter birthday list went all funny. I thought someone was trying to make the post a bit shorter....

It will be the same issue yes. The archive process was stripping out the smileys and line breaks. I've fixed. The shopping thread is ok now. The rest should catch up over the next couple of hours.
