Permanently?

Pretty sure they are still there hunker, I have found quite a few, but they are very difficult to search for with the topic gone from the search list.

hunkermunker · 08/03/2007 01:00

How have you found them? I can't see the topic on the topic list page either - have you gone through google or am I missing it?

I did a search on my own name and narrowed it by dates so found some that way.

Also did google search.

Try this on google:

site:mumsnet.com member profiles nickname

Hi all

Sorry, don't know the answer to this, but assume it's yes sinced my mumsnet was introduced. Will check with tech and report back. Are you very keen to access yours?

zephyrcat · 08/03/2007 12:35

Oh bugger. Was hoping to find something I posted and need for dd's school. Would it come up through google?

hunkermunker · 08/03/2007 12:36

Well, it'd be nice to see the one I posted of DS2 when he was born and the one I posted of DS1 initially - they got v long as I changed the pics a lot.

I realise you've introduced my mn and the threads aren't needed any longer, but can't you keep them as an archive and not let anyone create new ones?

zephyrcat · 08/03/2007 12:37

Hunker I just did a search for a keyword in the profile I was looking for and it came straight up - so they are still there, somewhere!

hunkermunker · 08/03/2007 12:38

I can't be arsed to think of keywords

I just want to point and click

At least add the topic back to the search list, Carrie of MN Towers, pleeeeeez?

Hurro, was only following orders innit. Once we added the "proper" member profiles, we hid that topic. It might make more sense to put it back, but not let new threads be created in it or something. I'll put that to the bosses. Then you'll get your point and click back. Good point on the topic being missing from the search list. We should deffo put it back there so that you can find the old threads.

Sorry, for terse tone, am a bit under the cosh. Remember that Two Ronnies years ago when the women had taken over and the men were serfs and Mars bars were called Pa's bars, and Diana Dors was a supreme ruler - that's my life at MNHQ that is.

Cheers,
Tech

Miaou · 08/03/2007 16:26

Oh you can't get rid of them - my very first thread on MN was my member profile (and it got about 70 posts which was a lot in those days )

SoupDragon · 08/03/2007 16:34

I think they should be brought back as a "photos" topic to save ar$ing about with profiles.

Miaou · 08/03/2007 16:42

I suggested that ages ago but everyone ignored me

zephyrcat · 08/03/2007 16:48

@tech

SaintGeorge · 08/03/2007 20:30

Hunker, DS2's first pic (if I have found the right thread) is now showing a daisy

SaintGeorge · 08/03/2007 20:36

Oh, and DS1 is all grassy
