Trying to start a new local thread and it keeps asking me for $25? How do I do this without incurring a fee?

Both on Hampshire local and West Sussex local?

That doesn't sound right - assuming it's an ordinary 'chat' type thread.

Or are you trying to advertise something? I think you can 'pin' an advertising thread for a small fee.

charmag · 22/03/2017 09:21

No not trying to advertise anything. Very strange?

The fact they've asked for dollars rather than pounds sounds very odd too. Could you take a screenshot of it and post the image on this thread? Perhaps that might give MNHQ some pointers as to what's going on. It almost sounds as though you're not on a genuine MN page.

WorraLiberty · 22/03/2017 12:40

That does sound very strange OP.

I've reported this thread to bring it to HQ's attention.

LornaMumsnet · 22/03/2017 12:43

Hi charmag,

This certainly doesn't sound right.

We're going to take a look into this.

Could we ask for a screenshot of the error message?

charmag · 24/03/2017 04:49

I'm so sorry everyone, I have worked out what I was doing wrong. I was checking the box that said something like 'pin to local board'. When I unchecked this it worked. Sorry for wasting everyone's time

I thought that's what you might have been doing, charmag!!
