Any chance of moving the "desktop site" button away from the bottom of the mobile page?

For the umpteenth frustrating time I've just lost a loooong post by accidentally hitting "Done", & just as the keyboard disappears, hitting "Desktop site" instead of the character I was aiming for.

It happens depressingly often Sad

Assuming I'm not the only person this happens to, could it possibly go somewhere at the top instead?

Forgot to say that by hitting desktop site I lose the post I was writing altogether!

Happens to me too.

Then I have to scroll around with eyes screwed up for the tiny "mobile site" button like a myopic 90yo

Oh good! thanks AF Smile

(Well, sorry you're afflicted too but glad it's not just me)

Evening All,
Thanks for sharing your tales of long posts lost with us. We're really sorry this is an irritation for you all. Anyone else having problems with this?

FATEdestiny · 15/03/2017 21:36

I regularly use the "back to top" link on the mobile site. If I happen to be over zealous in my scrolling and scroll too far, the "desktop site" gets accidentally hit.

I would much prefer if the link was moved to the top of the page.

This has never happened to me, the Done button and Desktop view link are nowhere near each other on my phone (using Safari).

LapdanceShoeshine · 15/03/2017 22:35

WhoKn0ws

no, the Done button isn't near the Desktop button on safari - in fact the Desktop button is covered by the keyboard.

but the Done button is near the top RH side of the keyboard, so a fat-fingered typist can easily hit it by accident; in which case, as the keyboard slides away, the fat-fingered typist can then also easily hit the Desktop site button instead of one of the lower letters on the keyboard

(unless you're a non-fat-fingered completely impeccable iphone typist of course Wink)

Yep, do it all the time. Hate it.

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 15/03/2017 22:49

Ah, I see. That used to happen to me on my old phone, Done and P were too close together but it isn't a problem on the one I have now. My fat fingeredness only seems to extend to keys next to each other rather than above and below.
