First Sainsburys, then Halfords

Why does typing in names of certain companies automatically cause them to hyperlink to their websites?
Like here - Sainsburys
and here - Halfords

I appreciate MN needs revenue to survive, but actually hyperlinking on words in people's threads seems a bit much. It's like a parody of a movie where absolutely every product is brought in as sponsorship - hero drinks from cans clearly marked Coke, Budweiser; eats from MacDonalds take-away bags, visibly puts on his Nike trainers.
Hmm
I don't like it.
It's tacky.

OK, so the weird thing is, it's not happening here - I'll link to a thread where it does.

I can't see any links here or on the thread you linked to. Is it a settings issue?

Hi IAmNotAUserNumber,

Wot BiggerBoatNeeded said - we're testing out skimlinks. Do have a look at this thread for more info: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/2845367-Skimlinks-on-Talk
