MUMSNET T-SHIRTS - Quality/Price issues

I've just taken delivery of my mumsnet shop order. I've ordered one Ladies Fitted t (lilac) at £14.99 and one toddler t (also lilac) at £9.99. IMO the toddler t's are very expensive at £9.99, looking at it sitting on my desk now, I'd pay £7.99 MAX for it. Although I think £14.99 for the fitted t is reasonable enough.

The fabric quailty seems ok but the print quality of the lettering is pretty sh*te. I really do appreciate the MN folk developing this merchandise area but it seems that the quality and prices are a bit hit and miss. I'll be keeping the ladies t and returning the toddler one. Sorry to moan about it.

By 'print quality of the lettering is pretty sh*te', I mean that it looks a bit 'homemade'

but that is the mumsnet font! Or typeface or whatever it's called.

The printing on the lilac one is a bit green and bleedy around the edges...

Hello, hello,
We agree that the lettering is not quite as sharp as we'd like - we're talking to the host site about it now. RE prices well yes they are expensive which is why we negotiated the discount - it's because (and I'm guessing) each order is made up seperately - really this site's business is putting individual images on t-shirts not mass-producing standard ones. We used them because we didn't really want to get into the business of manufacturing, storing and fulfilling - it comes down to resources again -but then again if the merchandise isn't what people want/ is too expensive there's not much your point in doing it this way. Anyway your points are valid and we promise to address them. Thanks,
Justine, Carrie and Rachel

MMSNT10 is the code I used

carla · 20/06/2004 10:32

Shouldn't the tee shirts say Mumsnet.com, for all mums who haven't discovered it yet?

Justine (mumsnet) · 20/06/2004 23:14

Hi Carla,
It's a good point and one we thought about. The virtual mother ones say mumsnet.com underneath but we thought the kids ones sounded better without the .com and we were a little uneasy about using people's children to advertise the site quite so blantantly. But quite possibly that's nonsense and we're just confusing people instead .
