Android testing

Is anyone else a tester for the android app and finding that they can't select a thread in a topic? In Chat, for example, the topics just seem to self-select at random, once I have chosen the first thread to read.

I'm the same as judy I click on a threqd8, but it loads a different one up. Same as what was happening before the update

Yes I have the same thing, random threads open.

Plus they are not up to date, they are several hours behind.

When more than one photo is posted you can only see the first one and not the rest.

Links show up as the whole long link randomly placed in the sentence instead of a nice clicky word (and I've checked on the iPad app and they are nice clicky words on there so isn't that they have been posted that way)

I don't mind the layout though. Not quite as nice as the iPad app though.

Oh and this evening it just keeps saying it has stopped working and closing down. I'm back on the iPad rather than my phone.

I am excited but the progress though, hopefully it is just a few bugs to iron out. Thank you lovely MNHQ and the Tech lot for bringing back and android app.

I had to remove my old talk app which was still hanging around on my phone . Haven't had the issues with the threads that others have reported . Would be interested to know how it compares to the iPhone app .

I am a tester, but I haven't installed the app. After the problems MN has keeping basic things on the website working, I really don't trust them to put together a competent app that won't work my phone.

I am not a tester but I am excited we've got as far as testing at last! Even if there are a few bugs to iron out.

To be honest , I think it still has a way to go . It just doesn't feel very finished or polished to me yet .

Formatting doesn't seem to work between apps iykwim.

So the posts people do on the android app for example show up with the line breaks as br/ or however they are done.

Another tester here. I managed to install it but it keeps crashing every few minutes.

oldsilver I got both emails - have you asked MN for a resend of the instructions email? If not I'll paste it in here.

paleontologist I noticed the formatting problems too - my smileys typed on the iPad app are all coming up as stars on the android app.

I'm giving up for now, sorry HQ. It crashes all the time and if it isn't crashing then it isn't up to date anyway. I have the Christmas bargain thread open on the android app right now and the most recent post it shows is yesterday 21:58, opening the thread on the mobile site the latest post is today 10:07. If I use the android app I'll be having some very strange conversations!

Prior to the new update it was forever crashing. I shall wait to see how it goes now. The highlighting of names is OK. I prefer the highlighting of the whole post on the mobile site

I've updated but my app still doesn't seem to be in real time. Eg threads I'm on are not up to date with posts, if I click on active convos then the first thread I the list below the sticky threads is one from last night. Does anyone else get this?

Keeps crashing for me too, won't let me post either, not liking it so far, I also dont like the lack of basic things like a search function. In addition my phone (pixel) has crashed a couple of times and the only thing that's new is the app, so I think I'll be removing it
